Earl G. Troutman Obituary

Earl G. Troutman, 88, of Herndon, passed away Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016, at ManorCare, Sunbury.


He was born April 21, 1928, in RD Sacramento, a son of the late Mary S. (Rabuck) and George M. Troutman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marion A. (Romberger) Troutman.


Earl graduated from Lower Mahanoy Township High School in 1945.


He was employed as a bulldozer operator for Troutman Brothers doing excavating and grading of agricultural projects, and land improvement work for the PA Game Commission.


Earl's interests included traveling, photography, rock collecting and family history. He also enjoyed playing a competitive game of croquet in the backyard with his children and grandchildren.


He was an active member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church Klingerstown, where he served as the Superintendent of the Sunday School and President of the Cemetery Association for many years.


He was a member of the Herndon F and AM Lodge 702, the Harrisburg Consistory, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Gratz Historical Society, the Northumberland County Historical Society and the Sons of the American Revolution.


He was the secretary of Jordan Township for many years and was a lifetime member of the Klingerstown Fire Police and Fire Company.


Earl is survived by two sons, Steve E. and wife Joan Troutman, of Klingerstown, Glenn L. and wife Donna Troutman, of Sunbury; one daughter, Ruby M. and husband Joseph C. Michetti Jr., of Herndon; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; one brother, Clair and wife Sandra Troutman, of Herndon; Earl's companion, Catherine Wasilewski; and nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bruce and Bryant Troutman.


Viewing will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Klingerstown, with the funeral service following at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jonathan Jenkins officiating. A Masonic service will be held at 10:45 a.m.


Interment will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery Klingerstown.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael's Lutheran Church Memorial Fund P.O. Box 71 Klingerstown, PA 17941.
