Duane E. Pinchak Obituary

Lewisburg, PA - Duane E. Pinchak, 69, of Lewisburg, passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Born October 13, 1955, in Kingston, PA, Duane was the son of the late Edward and Dorothy (Coach) Pinchak.

He was a devoted member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Lewisburg and a proud graduate of Central Catholic High School in Kingston and King's College in Wilkes-Barre.

Duane dedicated 27 years of service as a Corrections Officer with the Federal Bureau of Prisons in Lewisburg. He was deeply committed to his role, always upholding safety, integrity, and respect within the institution.

A lifelong sports enthusiast, Duane was a passionate supporter of all Philadelphia professional sports teams and cherished attending games with his sons. In his youth, he also rooted for the Oakland Raiders, drawn to their intensity and loyal fan base. He took great pride in watching his sons compete in sports and was their biggest fan throughout their lives.

Duane had a deep love for music—especially the sounds of the 1960s and 70s—which formed the soundtrack of his youth. He had a remarkable talent for "naming that tune" and never missed a beat. He had a lifelong love of good meals, especially the traditional Slovak dishes that connected him to his roots and early years.

Above all, family was at the center of Duane's life. He treasured time spent with loved ones, especially the memories he made in recent years with his three grandsons.

In addition to his parents, Duane was preceded in death by his sister, Deanne Lisko.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Jolayne (Kalac) Pinchak; son Scott Pinchak and his wife, Beth, and their sons Jack, Charles, and James, all of Lancaster; and son Eric Pinchak and his wife, Jennifer, of Philadelphia.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Holy Family Parish, 574 Bennett Street, Luzerne. Entombment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
