DANVILLE — Douglas J. Ackerson, 57, of Danville, passed away on Monday, Sept. 21, 2015, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. He was born on Dec.  2, 1957, in Bloomsburg, a son of the late Kenneth and Harriet (Davis) Ackerson. Doug loved his job at Suncom Industries in Northumberland, where he worked for more than 35 years. He was very active in group activities and especially enjoyed bowling. Doug also enjoyed traveling, loved eating out, as well as listening to anything Elvis. He was an avid sports fan, who could be found watching the Phillies, Eagles, or Notre Dame. Doug is survived by two sisters, Barbara and her husband Ronald Costella, of Riverside and Karen and her husband Harry Lesher, of Danville; one niece, Shannon Costella, of Ind.; one nephew, Sean and his wife Faith Costella, of Bellefonte; and two great-nephews, Ethan and Asher Costella.  Doug is also survived by his many loving caretakers, as well as his cat “Bullet.” Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept.  25, at the Brady Funeral Home, 320 Church Street in Danville. The burial will follow in  Pine Hill Cemetery in Elysburg. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. The family will provide flowers.
