Milton - Dorothy Madge Wolford, 96, of Milton, passed away at her home early Sunday morning, July 6,

2025

Dottie was born on the family farm in Montandon on Dec. 14, 1928, a daughter of the late

Abram and Meda Faye (Williams) Fairchild. She was married to Richard Wolford and her death

breaks a marital union of 75-plus years.

She attended Lycoming College and graduated from Bucknell University

She was a school teacher in the Lewisburg, Bellefonte and Millierstown School systems

beginning in 1952 and ending in 1992 and was a church organist from 14 years old until she was 93. She was also a lifelong member of various churches where she resided.

Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Scott R. (Patricia) Wolford of Poolesville, Md.;

daughter, Dr. Amy Wolford (Michael) Hauffler of Westminster, Md.; six grandchildren: Christopher (Katelynn) Wolford of Leesburg, Va, Jessica Wolford (Michael) Gray of Aldie, Va., Laura Wolford (Timothy) Downs, Kyle Hauffler, Dr. Alex Hauffler, Eric (Dr. Amy) Hauffler and four

great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Dr. Cynthia Wolford (Dr. Richard)

Symons.

Private services will be at the convenience of the family.
