Herndon - Doris J. Carl, 91, formerly of Herndon, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, in the care of Oak Glen Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Lewisburg. Doris was the widow of Robert "Buster" A. Carl Sr who passed in 1992. Born on Feb. 1, 1935, in Herndon, she was a daughter of the late Elmer L. Rothermel Sr. and Elva M. (Wirt) Rothermel.

Doris was a 1952 graduate of Mahanoy Joint High School and worked in various offices throughout her career. She was a faithful member of St. Paul's UCC, Urban, where she was actively involved in the church and sang in the choir. In her free time, Doris enjoyed roller skating and bowling.

Doris will be lovingly remembered by her son, Robert A. Carl Jr.; brother, Elmer "Butch" Rothermel and his wife Ruth; sister, Judy Badman and her husband Ken, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Richard D. Rothermel; sister, Lenice D. Yorks; and nephew, Brett A. Rothermel.

A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Foust Funeral Home, LLC. Trevorton, Ryan G. Foust, supervisor.
