Dornsife, Pennsylvania - Dorene Faye Wehry, 77, of Dornsife, passed away Friday, November 12, 2021 at her home.

Born in Herndon, on September 3, 1944, she was a daughter of Margaret Faye (Strohecker) of Herndon and the late Guy Peter Maurer.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years John L Wehry, Sr. who passed away Monday, November 8, 2021.

Dorene graduated from the Mahanoy Joint High School and was in charge of the accounting for the family business Wehry Grain and Hog Farm.

She was a member of Salem Church of Rough and Ready.

Dorene was also a member of the Idella Rebekah Lodge #58 of Dornsife and was a past Noble Grand.

She is survived by three sons John L, husband of Heidi Wehry, Jr, of Dornsife; David C Wehry, of Dornsife; Matthew P, husband of Crystal Wehry, of Klingerstown; 8 Gandchildren, Colton T. Wehry, Wyatt J. Wehry, Duane and Isaiah Kulp, Hilary P. Wehry, Robyn J. Wehry, Myah G. Wehry Hunter Stevens; three brothers, Junior Maurer, Marvin Maurer, and Eric Maurer and two sisters Jane Ellen Bartsch and Michelle Troutman; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Viewing for Dorene and John will be held from 6-8 PM on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at the Salem Church of Rough and Ready, 11 Church Road, Klingerstown the Rebekah Lodge will conduct their service at 8 PM. Viewing will also be held from 9-11 AM Friday, November 19, 2021 at the church with the funeral service immediately following. Interment will be in Salem Cemetery, Klingerstown.
