Donna Jean Baney, 81, of Selinsgrove passed away peacefully on Friday, August 22, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born June 29, 1944, in Lewisburg, a daughter of the late Dorothy (Aikey) Smith, her stepfather, the late Morris Smith, and was raised by the late Carl Ranck. On April 21, 1962, she married Robert L. Baney who preceded her in death on August 26, 2004, which broke a marital union of 42 years.

Donna attended the Sunbury schools.

She worked various jobs before retiring from Pennsylvania House.

Donna was a life member of VFW Post 6631 and Hummels Wharf Fire Co and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 25 of Selinsgrove. She loved baking, cooking, sewing, and crocheting. She was "mom" to all who knew her. Most importantly she loved spending time with her grand and great grandkids.

Donna is survived by four children, Robert (Dinah) Baney Jr., Carl (Companion Tamara) Baney, Melissa (Rick) Shetter, and Travis (Jessica) Baney; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; siblings, Beverly A. Henninger, Debra (Dale) Newman, William R. (Linda) Guyer; sisters-in-law, Janice Morick, Sandra Meiser and Patrice Sarfine; brother-in-law, James (Ruby) Baney.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, in infancy, Brenda Baney; one brother, Steve Morick; brothers-in-law, Bobby Henninger, Gary Meiser, Harry Baney Jr., and Barry Baney.

A viewing will be held from 9-11 am on Thursday, August 28 at the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High St., Selinsgrove followed by the funeral at 11 with Pastor Mark Gittens officiating.

Burial will follow in First Witmer's Cemetery, Port Trevorton.

Following the graveside service, a celebration of life will be held at the VFW Post 6631 in Selinsgrove.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to honor Donna's memory may be to any charity of the donor's choice.
