Muncy - Donald G. Ale, 93, of Five Points Road, Muncy, passed away on May 14, 2025, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. Born in Kelly Twp., Union County, he was the son of the late Clark and Mary (Thomas) Ale. He was married to the late H. Gail Ale.
Donald was a 1949 graduate of Watsontown High School. He was an Army veteran. Donald worked for Bell Telephone starting as a lineman and retiring from Verizon as the Head of Right of Way in 1988. He was a member of the Turbotville VFW 8206, where he served as commander for many years, the Watsontown American Legion 323, and the Muncy Masonic Lodge 293. He liked classic cars and tractors.
He is survived by a son, Thomas E. Ale and wife, Yunhye of Florida; three daughters, Deborah Artley of Milton, Kathy Hoffner and husband, Ken Sevison of Milton, and Susan Traver and husband, Dan Warne of Danville; six grandchildren, Wayne, Andrew, Brandon, Kyle, Kaitlyn, and Sami, and five great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Blake, Braylee, Everly, and Willow.
Donald was preceded in death by a grandson, Zachary Traver; five brothers, Harold, Clark Jr., William, Robert, and Howard Ale; and four sisters, Kathryn Baker, Mary E. Steese, Arlene Simms, and Jean Walker.
Friends and relatives will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, May 23, at Shaw Funeral Home, 400 N. Front St., Milton, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John E. Lee officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Harmony Cemetery, Milton
