Richfield, PA - Donald G. Apple, 78, of Richfield PA, beloved husband of Diane, took a flight to heaven on 3/31/2025. He was born on 10/27/1946 in Lewistown to Reno and Nora Ann Apple. He graduated from East Juniata High School in 1964. He married the love of his life, Diane Apple (Snyder), on 10/22/1966.

He was involved in farming with dairy and chickens all his life. He was past president of PFA, DHIA, Sire Power, and served on the Juniata County School Board for 8 years, some of which he was president. He belonged to the former Richfield Mennonite Church, now, Richfield Life Ministries Church. He had served as a Sunday School Teacher for around 50 years, Sunday School Superintendent, church chairman, past church treasurer and on the mission committee. He belonged to the Snyder County Gideons. He belonged to the Richfield Fire Company Ambulance League.

He loved going to his granddaughters soccer games, basketball games, and track meets. He also attended their gym meets and dance recitals. He loved to travel visiting every state except 3, which he was planning to do this summer. His main happy place was Aruba. He took hunting trips to Alaska, British Columbia, Yukon, Montana, Kansas, and Alabama. He loved hunting and in his spare time he played softball.

He is survived by the love of his life, his wife Diane Apple, son and daughter-in-law, Ed and Bobbi Apple of Richfield, daughter and son-in-law Staci and Derrick McDonald of Thompsontown, his 4 granddaughters, "the Apple of his eye," Makenzie Werner and husband Brandon Werner, Taylor Apple, Madison McDonald and her fiance Mitchell Watts, and Riley Apple. He was 'pap pap' to 3 little great grandchildren Ezra, Eloise, and Elliot Werner.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 6, 2025 at the Richfield Life Ministries Church, 167 Church St., Richfield with Pastor Aaron Benner officiating. Interment will follow in Richfield Union Cemetery.

A viewing will be held from 1:00 PM until the time of the funeral services at 2:00 PM on Sunday at the Church.

Memorial donations can be given to the Richfield Life Ministries Church Mission Fund or to the Snyder County Gideons.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville.
