Port Trevorton, Pennsylvania - Dina Annette Shaffer, 59, of Port Trevorton, passed away unexpectedly in the comfort of her home on Monday, July 27, 2026.

Born to the late Lee Ewig and Ora Mae Snyder, Dina was a graduate of West Snyder High School.

On Jan. 28, 1984, she married the love of her life, Michael Todd "Mike" Shaffer.

Together they built a life centered on love, family, and hard work until Mike's passing on Dec. 28, 2021.

Dina worked alongside her husband on the family farm and also provided transportation for members of the local Mennonite community.

Above all, Dina was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and Memaw.

Her grandchildren were the light of her life and she treasured time spent camping with them and cheering for them at sporting events and 4-H activities.

She was happiest when she was caring for others and creating memories with those she loved. Dina had a knack for making every holiday, birthday, and family gathering feel special through her thoughtful planning and attention to detail. She also found joy in reading and tending to her beautiful flower beds.

Dina leaves behind her loving children, Michael Lee Shaffer, Andrew (Emily) Shaffer, and Robin (Travis) Derr; six beloved grandchildren, Trevor, Leah, Bradley, Bentley, Declan, and Delaney; and many extended family members and friends who will cherish her memory.

While her children and grandkids will deeply miss Memaw, they find comfort in knowing she has been reunited with Papaw. As a family, they will continue to live out the legacy left by Mike and Dina of love, hard work, and devotion to family for generations to come.

In addition to her parents and her beloved husband, Dina was preceded in death by her younger brother, Kevin Ewig.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at the discretion of the family.
