Harrisburg, Pennsylvania - Deloris Jean Davenport, 79, of Harrisburg, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2026, at her home.

She was born July 11, 1946, in Harrisburg, to the late Charlie and Cordie Gust.

She is survived by 5 children, Dwydette Davenport, Melissa Thomas, Jeffrey Gust, Cordie High and Charles High II; 3 grandchildren, Heather Brooker, Zion High and Eli High; 2 great-grandchildren; her sister, Ava Brady; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Davenport, to whom she had been married for 45 years.

Deloris recently attended Assemblies of God churches and other churches throughout her life. She was a wonderful homemaker and an excellent cook. Deloris attended beauty school, styled hair, worked as a cashier and in a factory. She was devoted to her family and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

An evening viewing will be held Thursday, May 14, 6-7:30 p.m., with the funeral service 7:30-8 p.m. at the Cremation & Burial Society, 4100 Jonestown Road, Harrisburg. Pastor Terry Lamer will officiate. Second viewing will be Friday, May 15,10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with procession leaving at 11 a.m. for the committal service at Colebrook Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Manheim.
