Selinsgrove - Darlene K. Attig, 80, of Selinsgrove, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2026, at WellSpan Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg. Darlene was born on Aug. 28, 1945, in Lewisburg, a daughter of the late Ray O. and Theda J. (Kerstetter) Dreese. She was the wife of Dennis L. Attig, who survives.
She attended St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Selinsgrove. Darlene enjoyed reading, playing games on her Kindle, and going out to eat. Her favorite restaurants were the Hotel Middleburger, Country Creamery, Amato's, and Arby's. She loved spending time with her family and cherished her cat Mellow.
In addition to her husband of 60 years, Dennis, Darlene is survived by her sister, Beverly Brown, and her cherished niece, Angela Hoot, who was like a daughter to her. She poured that same love into Angela's daughters, Casara (Daniel) Lichtenwalner and Quinn (Adam) Kranzel, and into her great-great-niece and nephews — Wyatt and Lucas Beaver, Evan Lichtenwalner, and Henley and Tucker Kranzel.
Darlene also embraced Dennis's family as her own. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Diane (Lee) Shamory; her brother-in-law, David (Leslie) Attig; and her nieces and nephews: Craig (Roselle) Shamory, Todd (Stephanie) Shamory, Brett (Diane) Shamory, Jeffrey (Ryan) Attig, and Kayla Attig (Kate), in addition to many dearly loved great-great-nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date at the discretion of the family.
