Lewisburg - Clair Eugene Troup, 87, of Lewisburg, entered into rest Friday, Aug. 28, 2026, at WellSpan Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

He was born April 4, 1939, in Lewisburg, a son of the late Lloyd and Beaulah (Krouse) Troup. On Jan. 17, 1960, he married the former Barbara Ann Hassinger, who preceded him in death April 4, 2025, after 65 years of marriage.

Clair attended Lewisburg High School.

He served in the US Army from 1957 until his honorable discharge in 1965.

Clair was employed as a heavy equipment operator at WW Hoffman, Lewisburg, and was a crane operator at Andritz, Muncy. Before retirement, he worked on rebuilding and repairing the machinery he had originally set in place all over the United States.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cutting firewood, and spending his time in the mountains.

Clair was a member of Union County Sportsmen's Club, Mifflinburg Masonic Lodge #370, Montandon American Legion Post 841 and former member of the Lewisburg Masonic Lodge #324.

Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Dean Wiand of Mifflinburg; one son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Cindy Troup of Unityville; four grandchildren and spouses, Kayla and Chris Logue of Erie, Amanda and Joe Potkovac of Parrish, Florida, Devan Clements of Millville, and Jennifer and Jon Kile of Benton, and two great-grandchildren, Parker Logue and Samuel Kile.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Lloyd Troup Jr.

Family and friends are welcome from 10 to 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 3, 2026, at Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Road, Mifflinburg, where a masonic service will be conducted at 11, by Mifflinburg Masonic Lodge #370.

A graveside service will follow in the Mazeppa Union Cemetery, with military Military Honors accorded by Lewisburg Area Veteran Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Union County Sportsmen's Club, 50 Sportsmen's Club Lane, Millmont, Pa., 17845.
