Montandon - Cherie L. Boyer, 79, of Montandon, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2026, at her home.

Born in Williamsport on Feb. 24, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Rufus and Mary (Hauck) Lins. She was married to the late Clyde Boyer.

Cherie was a 1964 graduate of Milton High School. She was the tax collector for West Chillisquaque Twp. for many years and was an owner of Century 21 in Milton. She was a member of the Theodore Burr Covered Bridge Society, collected salt and pepper shakers, and was an avid Phillies Phan.

She is survived by a son, Christopher Wertman of Naples, N.Y.; a daughter Dawn M. Shoff and her husband Douglas of New Cumberland; a daughter-in-law Marge Boyer of Milton; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Douglas Boyer and Dwayne Boyer; a daughter-in-law Barbara Boyer, and a brother, Russell Lins.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, June 1, 2026, at noon in Montandon Cemetery with Pastor Megan Millard officiating.

Arrangements are under the care of the Shaw Funeral Home, 400 N. Front St. Milton.
