Cecil C. Laurenson Jr., 88, of Muncy, died Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born Sept. 20, 1935, in Hughesville, he was a son of the late Cecil Laurenson Sr. and Marguerite (Minier) Laurenson.

Cecil was a graduate of Muncy High School, Class of 1953. He retired from the former Sprout Waldron, Muncy, and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. Cecil was also a member of Picture Rocks Lions Club, Little Gap Hunting Club (since 1958), Central Pennsylvania Traffic Club, serving as president in 1966, and the West Branch Chorale. He was an avid hunter who also enjoyed 4-wheeling, singing in the church choir, and playing fastpitch softball where he was a pitcher, and voted MVP for Lycoming County during the 1966 season. In recent years he enjoyed spending time at the family cabin, Laurenson Lodge, in Unityville. He also enjoyed Penn State and Steelers football, and Phillies baseball.

Surviving are three daughters, Deborah (Timothy) Pawlak, Bonnie (Lowell) Shaner, and Donna Gordner, all of Muncy; a son, Cecil Bruce Laurenson of Muncy; eight grandchildren, Carmen Allvord, Lola Travelpiece, Brian Shaner, Wayne Gordner, Craig Kahler, Michele Shilling, Christopher Laurenson, and Stephanie Barlett; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Connie Hamilton of Covington, Ga.

In addition to his parents, Cecil was preceded in death by his first wife of 16 years, Rachael Laurenson; his second wife, Leah Kile; and a sister, Doris Hollenbach.

Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 15, at the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. David B. Guenin officiating.

Burial will follow in Muncy Cemetery.
