Catherine E. German, 78, of Oakwood Lane, Selinsgrove, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2025, at Sunbury Skilled Nursing and Rehab.
Catherine was born July 21, 1946, in Silver Spring, Md., a daughter of the late John P. and Ethel (Charlebois) White. On Sept. 15, 1973, she married David E. German.
She was a graduate of Wheaton High School.
Catherine was a hairdresser; she worked for several different salons and had worked out of her home for more than 30 years.
She was a lifelong Catholic and served as past president for CCW (Council of Catholic Women) and a member of the social club for Lady of Hope in Port Orange, Fla.
Catherine was also a member of the Eagles Club.
She enjoyed sewing and cooking, she taught swimming and was actively involved in all of her boys activities.
In addition to her husband of 51 years, she is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Tera German and William and Brittany German; and grandchildren, Nicholas, Jackson, Alexander, Rilynn, Hudson and Samantha.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, Jan. 21 from 10 to 10:50 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Selinsgrove, where a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. with Father Joshua Cavender as celebrant.
Interment will be in County Memorial Gardens, Oakland, Md., at a later date.
Arrangements are by the Joseph W. Epler Funeral Home, 210 King St., Northumberland.
