Carol Jean Brown, 64, of Klingerstown, passed away Sunday, Dec. 16, 2018, at her home

She was born Aug. 31, 1954, in Urban, a daughter of Betty Snyder of Urban and the late Clarence Snyder. She was married for 42 years to John Brown. They were married Feb. 14, 1976.


Carol graduated from Line Mountain High School in 1974.

She was a production worker at Sterman Masser Potato Farms, Sacramento for more than 30 years.

Carol loved time spent with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed baking, cooking, canning, gardening, and bird watching.


Carol is survived by two sons, John R, husband of Amber McGinnis Brown, of Klingerstown, and Wesley A., husband of Kjerstin Brown, of Klingerstown; one daughter, Pam Martz of Herndon; seven grandchildren, Emalie, Alana, Candace, Lila, Davis, Claire and Lincoln; three brothers, Rodney, Rusty and Todd Snyder; and three sisters, Wanda Maurer, Donna Schreffler and Elaine Neumeister.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Merley Snyder.


A viewing will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at Salem Church of Rough and Ready, 11 Church Road, Klingerstown, followed by the funeral at 11.

Interment will be in Riverview Memorial Gardens Halifax.
