C. Myron Brubaker Obituary

Selinsgrove - Family and friends are welcome to join in honoring the life of C. Myron Brubaker at a Celebration of Life on Thursday, May 21, from noon to 2 p.m., held at Lewisburg American Legion Post #182, 127 Buffalo Road. At 1 p.m., there will be a presentation of the American Flag and Color Guard.

Myron, of Selinsgrove, passed away on Feb. 15. He leaves behind his wife of 44 years, Deb (Smith) Brubaker, as well as two children — Craig, age 43, and Ashley, age 38 — and a grandson, Gavin Brubaker, age 15.

Myron was born on May 5, 1951, to C. Myron Brubaker and Ruth (Strausser) Brubaker, both of whom preceded him in death. He grew up in the Dornsife Hotel, which was owned by his parents.

Myron was a 1969 graduate of Line Mountain High School and a 1976 graduate of PA College of Technology. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1970 to 1974 on the U.S.S. Cascade AD-16 stationed in Naples, Italy.

Myron worked in Operations for PA Power & Light/Sunbury Generation from 1977 until his retirement in 2011.

He was a member of the American Legion Post #182, Masonic Charity Lodge #144, Selinsgrove VFW Post #6631, and East Sunbury Hose Company.

He enjoyed working on electrical projects and cherished his time with his son and grandson at Craig's cabin in Potter County. He took great pleasure in attending Gavin's fishing tournaments and Selinsgrove wrestling matches, always proud of his accomplishments.

Myron is survived by his twin brother, Byron (Robin), of Winfield; his sister, Ruthanne Alberts, of Royersford, and his sister-in-law, Kay Brubaker, of Sunbury.

In addition to his parents, Myron was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Brubaker, and his brothers-in-law, Thom Alberts and Bruce Smith Jr.

To honor Myron's memory, contributions may be made to The Arc Susquehanna Valley, located at 326 Market Street, Sunbury, Pa., 17801. The Arc is a support and advocacy organization for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Contributions can also be made to the American Legion Post #182, 127 Buffalo Road, Lewisburg, PA 17837.
