Mifflinburg, Pennsylvania - C. Mary (Erdley) Keefer, 90, of Mifflinburg, formerly of Milton, was received into the arms of her Lord the morning of July 29, 2026. There she joins her husband of 66 years, Erlyn R. Keefer, who preceded her in death on April 26, 2023.


Mary was born on Nov. 26, 1935, to parents John P. and Carrie Irene (Eberhart) Erdley in Jackson Township, Snyder County. Mary was the Valedictorian of her 1953 class of the West Chillisquaque Township High School. She and Erlyn were wed on Feb. 16, 1957. Mary retired from American Home Foods (Chef Boy-Ar-Dee) after approximately 40 years of service alongside her husband. She and Erlyn attended Milton Presbyterian Church and were previously longtime members of Chillisquaque Presbyterian Church, Pottsgrove and the Northumberland Presbytery. Mary volunteered for her community with the Red Cross, Meals on Wheels program, AARP, Expectations Women's Center, and Easter Seals. She was a faithful fan of Penn State Football and enjoyed participating in many bowling leagues, frequently competing in State Tournaments. She enjoyed singing with Buffalo Valley Singers and Milton Pops Concert. She was a member of the Milton Garden Club. "Great-Gram" avidly supported her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in attending their many concerts, recitals and sporting events.


Mary is survived by her son and daughter in law, Richard (Maryann) Keefer, of Reedsville, and daughter and son in law, Carol (Craig) Pursel, of Mifflinburg; 7 grandchildren, Christopher (Jennifer) Keefer, Stephan (Nicole) Keefer, Bradley (Sara) Keefer, Ryan (Jillian) Keefer, Alicia (Zach) Showers, Hannah (Paul) McIntyre, and Aaron Pursel; as well as fourteen great-grandchildren, Camden, Tenley, Madison, Brody, Jase, Vanessa, Matthew, Cooper and Audra Keefer; Trey, Theo and Tatum Showers; and Elijah and Leah McIntyre. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Margaret Erdley, of Milton, and her sister, Jennie McNier of Milton, as well as many nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her siblings: Mae Ulrich, Kathryn Myers, Bessie Miller, Harold Erdley, Anna Erdley, Robert Erdley and Irene Kessler. She was also preceded in death by two sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Aida (Jacob) Confer and Ethel Jean Shriver.


Friends and family may gather to celebrate Mary's life on Monday, Aug. 3, 2026, with visitation from 10-11 and service at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 47 Walnut St., Milton. Burial will be immediately following in Milton Cemetery.
