Exchange, Pennsylvania - Betty M. Whitmoyer, 96, of Exchange, Montour County, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 25, 2025, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born in Anthony Township, Montour County, on Jan. 27, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Calvin E. and Eva (Kirkner) Brouse. She was first married to Glenn Trivelpiece until his death and later shared 36 years of marriage with Arden LaRue Whitmoyer until his death on Oct. 13, 1996.
She worked at the former Turbotville Dress Factory until its closing, and later at Montgomery Sportswear.
She was a member of White Hall Baptist Church, having attended services there since the age of 6, and was a member of the Montandon American Legion Auxiliary.
Betty enjoyed life and had many interests. She enjoyed bowling and was inducted into the Hall of Fame. She enjoyed quilting and made, or helped make, many quilts. She was a fan of the Philadelphia Phillies, Little League, and the Exchange Grays baseball teams, and enjoyed watching a good or bad game. She enjoyed gardening and canning with her sister and girls, fishing, and of course, her scratch-off lottery tickets.
Surviving are four daughters and a daughter-in-law: Nancy (Daniel) Phillips, of Danville, Barbara (John) Leech of Hughesville, Debra (James) Auman, of Watsontown, Glenda (Wayne) Wirth, of Turbotville, with whom she resided, and Sara Whitmoyer of Muncy; 9 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death besides her parents and husbands were a son, Larue F. Whitmoyer; a grandson, John Leech; a great-great-grandson Quinton J. Schwenk; a great-great-granddaughter Kaden Wertman; two brothers: Walter and Paul Brouse; and two sisters: Mary Lyons and Gladys Williams Snyder.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Brooks Funeral Home and Cremation Svc, PC, 207 Broadway St., Turbotville, and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at White Hall Baptist Church, 699 White Hall Road, Danville, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. with Pastor John McCarty, officiating. Burial will follow in White Hall Cemetery.
