Betty Jane Cawley, 91, a resident of Montgomery, passed away at her residence on Sunday, March 17, 2019.

She was born March 25, 1927, at Bryantown, Lycoming County, a daughter of the late Charles Henry and Althea Margaret (O'Conner) George. She was married to Robert L. Cawley who preceded her in death on Sept. 27, 2015.

Betty was formerly employed by the former Milton Shoe Factory, Montgomery Mills, and the West Company.

Betty enjoyed visits from her family and friends, enjoyed outdoor activities, playing checkers and chess with her grandchildren, computer games and 500 Rummy with anyone willing.

She is survived by four children and their spouses, Larry N. and Jane Rupert of Montgomery, Dennis L. and Bonnie Rupert of Milton, Alan D. and Sue Cawley of Millville, and Judy A. and Dave Bennage of Watsontown; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, March 22, in Highland Cemetery, New Columbia with CLP Charles W. North IV of Chillisquaque Presbyterian Church, Pottsgrove, officiating.
