Barry A. Knouse Obituary

Barry A. Knouse, of Route 204, Selinsgrove, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2024, at home surrounded by his family.


He was born April 16, 1942, at his home in Kratzerville, to Harry and Myrtle (Herman) Knouse. He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kratzerville.


After graduating from Selinsgrove High School in 1959, Barry then pursued his career as a plumber. He started his plumbing career with Steininger's in Kratzerville, then worked for Spigs Plumbing, and later worked for Fogarty Homes Manufacturing Company, where he retired. On Sept. 16, 1995, he married his wife, Patricia (Rebuck) Knouse who survives. Together they celebrated 28 years of marriage. He was a very loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, who his grandchildren affectionately called "Pop Pop."


He was a life member of the Kratzerville Fire Company, as well as the Selinsgrove Moose, Kreamer Sportsman's Club, Mid-Penns Sportsman's Club in Kratzerville, and the NRA.


Barry loved hunting and camping with his family. He also enjoyed seek-a-work puzzles, and the Daily Item puzzles.


In addition to his wife, Barry is loved and deeply missed by his two daughters, Brenda Harper and her husband Scott of Mohnton, and Christine Heimbach and her husband Keith of Selinsgrove; one granddaughter, Laura Heimbach of Selinsgrove; three grandsons, Joshua Keller and his wife Kaitlin of Shillington, Matthew Keller and his companion Emma Reichert of Reading, and Jason Keller and his husband Sean Lindemann of Maryland; one great-granddaughter, Kenadee; three great-grandsons, Ace, Rylyn, and Kolestin; one brother, Bobbie and his wife Judy of Washingtonville; two brothers-in-law, Carl Rebuck and his wife Linda of Allentown, and James Rebuck and his wife Deborah of Mount Carmel; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his faithful dog, Abby.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, William Rebuck and his wife Mae (Paul) Rebuck; and one brother, Harry R. "Ronnie" Knouse and his wife Janice.


Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19 at Zion Lutheran Church, Kratzerville, followed by a memorial service at 11 with Pastor Stina Schaeffer officiating.


Burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. in Northumberland Memorial Park, Sunbury.
