Sunbury - Barbara A. Weikel, 87, of Spruce Street, Sunbury, passed away May 12, 2026.

She was born Jan. 9, 1939, in Frackville, a daughter of the late Quay R. and Ethel A. (Pensyl) Markel.

She married Marlin A. Weikel who preceded her in death.

Barbara was a supervisor for Sunbury Textile Mill in Sunbury.

She enjoyed playing the organ, taking trips to the countryside and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She especially cherished time spent with her family.

Barbara is survived by her granddaughters Kristin Tyson and her husband Troy, Janelle Willis and her husband Jay III and her great-grandchildren Troy Tyson Jr., Braydyn and Carter Willis.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon Mull.

A graveside service will be held Monday, May 18, at 11 a.m. in Millers Crossroads Cemetery, Sunbury.

Arrangements are by the Blank Funeral Home, 395 State Street, Sunbury.
