Arlene F. Steffen, 77, McClure

Arlene F. Steffen, 77, of McClure passed away on the morning of Wednesday, April 9, 2025.

She was born March 19, 1948 in Freeburg, a daughter of the late Levi S. Sr. and Stella M. (Stahl) Stauffer. On January 22, 1968 she married Myron E. Steffen Jr. who survives.

Arlene attended the Selinsgrove Area Schools.

She worked at Kinney Shoes in Beaver Springs, the Beavertown Weaving Mill, and Conestoga in Beavertown until her retirement.

She loved to fish, going for walks in the woods, and her dog Rosie. Arlene also enjoyed playing Solitaire. Arlene loved spending time with her family and was the most loving wife, mother, and grandmother a family could ask for.

In addition to her husband Myron of 57 years, she is survived by three sons, Dwayne (Melissa) Steffen, Greg Steffen and his fiancé Brenda Walter, and Keith Steffen; nine grandchildren, Sage (Chase) Reich, Connor Steffen, Damien Steffen and his fiancé Alexis, Corbin Steffen, Mark (Ang) Stover, Christopher, Skylar, and Allison Walter, and Tasha Hartley; four brothers, Bob, Clair, Mark, and Levi Stauffer; one sister, Mary Clark; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Harold, Ed, Tim, and Joe Stauffer; one stillborn brother, Nathan; one sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Umstead.

A family memorial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to honor Arlene's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704 Hagerstown, MD 21741.

Arrangements are by the Kreamer Funeral Home, 130 S. Zechman St., Beavertown.
