Archie D. Goss Obituary

Archie D. Goss, 92, of McClure, passed away Sunday, Nov. 24, 2024, at his daughter's residence in Lewistown.


He was born Sept. 16, 1932, in Spring Township, Snyder County, a son of the late Hurley A. and Mabel (Knepp) Goss. On June 29, 1957, he married the former Fay E. Edmiston who survives.


Archie was a 1952 graduate of Beaver Vocational High School.


He worked at Wood-Mode in Kreamer until his retirement in 2000.


He was a member of Mount Bethel Church in McClure where he served as a Sunday school teacher and superintendent. Archie was also an elder and deacon for the church.


Archie was a member of the McClure Lion's Club. He enjoyed woodworking, riding motorcycle, nature and hunting with the Green Ridge Hunting Camp. He was also an avid golfer and Penn State fan.


Surviving in addition to his wife Fay are three children, Cheryl (Ed) Snyder, Landon Goss and Stacey (Rick) Hawk; four grandchildren, Tennille Goss, Jessica (Michael) Gabel, Meghan Hawk and her fiancé Ryan Rosendale, and Lauren (Doug) Randall; five great-grandchildren, Brayden, Dayeshia, Camp, Wren and Adrienne; sister, Nancy (Ronald) Fetterolf; and numerous nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by one son, Dale Goss; four brothers, Robert, Roy, Fred and Clifford Goss; daughter-in-law, Francis Goss.


A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family with Pastor Tad Schlegel officiating.


In lieu of flowers, contributions to honor Archie's memory may be made to Mount Bethel Church, 16 E. Specht St., McClure, PA 17841.


Arrangements are by the Kreamer Funeral Home, 130 S. Zechman St., Beavertown.
