Anna Gum Obituary
Anna Mae Gum, 85, of Danville, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at Vintage Knolls.
She was born April 19, 1937, in Fishing Creek Township in Columbia County, a daughter of the late William and Ada Williams.
Anna Mae was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Stanley; parents William and Ada Williams; brothers Maynard Williams and Jack Williams; and granddaughter Melissa Joyce.
She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Gum and his partner, Schelly, of Danville; a daughter, Vicki and late husband Stephen Bennick, of Danville; a son, Joel Gum and wife Kristine of Danville; a grandson, Matthew Gum and wife Tiffany of Danville.
Anna Mae and Stanley originally resided in Millville, then built their first home in Danville in 1959. They built their second home in 1966, where they proudly resided until the passing of Stanley in early 2021. She graduated from Millville High School and afterwards worked part time for Servomation at Merck and local LCB stores over the holidays. Later, she worked part time in the fabric department at Beiter's Department Store for several years.
Anna Mae enjoyed being outside to either weed whack the yard, take care of her garden, or water her flowers. Inside you would always find her in the kitchen baking and cooking for her family or sewing a variety of fabrics. She had a strong love for animals, especially her most recent cat, Miss Kitty, or as Stanley would call him: Dummy.
You would also find her every evening at 7 p.m. watching Wheel of Fortune. She was an avid bingo player at various establishments around town and did the occasional casino trip which Stanley turned a blind eye to. She will be greatly missed by her boys who always visited with her throughout the day.
Services will be Sunday May 22, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Bunnell Funeral Home Inc., 179 E. Main St., Millville. Burial will follow at Millville Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
Contributions can be made in her memory to the Pennsylvania SPCA at www.pspca.org.
