Lewisburg - Angelo Giunta, 85, of Lewisburg, Pa., passed away on April 28, 2026, at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village. He was peaceful and surrounded by his family.

He was born on Aug. 21, 1940, in Pittston PA to Salvatore and Grace Giunta. He grew up in Lewisburg where he made lifelong friends to whom he continued to stay close. The support provided by his family and friends was incredible.

Angelo started his career in the shoe business working with his Dad at Champion Shoe. After a brief departure to work at JPM and the Milton Shoe Factory, he decided that being a business owner better suited him. He returned to Champion Shoe and remained there until his retirement. He could repair anything and filled each day with joy and laughter.

Angelo was devoted to the Lewisburg community. One of his commitments to the community was the Election Night Alumni Association Spaghetti Dinner. Angelo made his famous spaghetti sauce and all the proceeds supported scholarships for Lewisburg High School students.

He was a hardworking and business driven owner but was best know for his sense of humor. He loved to have fun and treasured his time with customers, friends and his family. Angelo loved to travel and cherished his time with his children and grandchildren. He was an amazing Father, Husband, Brother and Friend who was selfless with his time and an anchor to his family, providing them with unconditional love.

Angelo is survived by his wife JoAnn, his son Joe and his wife Rosie and his daughter Gina and her fiancé Brian. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Ryan and Megan Giunta and Cameron and Andrew Fick. He was preceded in death by his five sisters, Sara Amico, Michelena Waschovich, Grace Bentlage, Angeline Staib and Carmela Kauffman.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at the Bull Run Tap House at 605 Market St. in Lewisburg on May 3, from 1 to 4 p.m. Please enter through the side entrance on 6th Street.

We will miss Angelo making us laugh and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
