Allen P. Bailey Obituary

Allen P Bailey, 87, of Leck Kill, passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at Mountain View Manor, Coal Township.


Allen was born in Colon, Republica de Panama, on June 5, 1931, a son of the late Georgiana Thomas and Allen Charles Bailey.


He was the husband of Doris Mattern-Bailey, of Leck Kill. They were married April 25, 1993.


He attended Business College in Panama City Panama.


He served in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Germany.


Allen was employed in the cargo department at Pan AM World Airways working at JFK Airport.


He enjoyed music and playing piano, watching baseball and had played in minor league baseball before joining the Airforce.


Allen is survived by his wife Doris; a daughter, Alana Bailey, of St. Louis, Mo.; a granddaughter, Madyson Bailey; and sister, Myrtle Bailey, of New York.


He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ina Hamlin and Letiria Graham; and one brother, Vernon Bailey.


Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 13, at Jacob's Cemetery, Pitman, with the Rev. Mark Swanson officiating.
