Alice W. Totten
Alice W. Totten Obituary
Northumberland - Alice W. Totten passed away in the early hours of Thursday, April 9, at Nottingham Village, Northumberland. Alice was born Sept.17, 1930, the daughter of Charles and Katherine Windeknecht, and raised in Tenafly, New Jersey. She attended Bucknell University, class of 1952, where she met her future husband, Harold Joseph Totten, class of 1950. The two married and lived in New Jersey, where they raised two sons in Demarest.
Following the death of her husband in 1973, she worked in various office and administrative assistant positions, in New Jersey and after a move to Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, in 1983, until her retirement. In addition to being a diligent assistant, Alice enjoyed time spent with family, friends from high school and college days, and colleagues. She was a serious reader (and proofreader), and enjoyed listening to music and watching golf. Alice lived in Lewisburg for many years before moving to Nottingham Village.
In addition to her parents, Alice was predeceased by her husband; her son Kenneth Totten of San Diego, and two brothers, Charles Windeknecht and Walter Windeknecht. She is survived by her son, Richard Totten, and daughter-in-law, Linda Godfrey, of Winfield, as well as two nephews and seven nieces.
At Alice's request, there will be no funeral service. Friends can remember Alice by reading a good book, listening to music, or with a memorial contribution to the Public Library for Union County.
