Alan William Anderson Obituary

Alan William Anderson, 57, of Rockwall, Texas, passed away on March 5, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and unwavering dedication to his family and country.

Born on January 1, 1968, in Sunbury, Pennsylvania, Alan was the beloved son of Shirley M. Anderson and the late William R. Anderson. He grew up in Lewisburg and graduated with the Class of 1986. Following graduation, he answered the call to serve his country, joining the United States Navy, where he proudly served for a total of 13 years between active duty and reserves. Throughout his service, Alan was recognized for his commitment and bravery, earning two Navy Sea Service Deployment Ribbons, the Battle Effectiveness Award, and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal.

Beyond his military service, Alan's greatest pride and joy was his family. He shared 30 beautiful years of marriage with the love of his life, Jeanne Marie Anderson, until her passing just last month on February 9, 2025. Their love was unwavering, a bond that even time cannot break. His heart found its greatest happiness in his grandchildren, whom he cherished beyond words. Whether it was sharing stories, offering words of wisdom, or simply being present, Alan was a pillar of strength and love to those who knew him. By his side through it all was his faithful companion, his dog Cooper, who never left him.

Alan is survived by his stepdaughter, Tracy Smith of Rockwall, Texas; his stepson, Don Smith and his wife, Tansey, of Cottage Grove, Oregon; his beloved grandson, Ian Arnold of Carmichael, California; and his granddaughters, Chloe and Siena Creekmore. He also leaves behind his mother, Shirley Anderson of Vale, North Carolina, and his two sisters: Jennifer and Richard Sutley of Vale, NC, and Lynn and Jamie Ledbetter of Cherryville, NC and numerous Nieces and Nephews.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Jeanne Anderson, his father, William R. Anderson, and his grandparents, Charles and Pauline Hauck and Reynold and Dorothy Anderson.

Alan will be cremated, and a memorial service will be held in June 2025 in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, where family and friends will gather to honor and celebrate his life.

Though his time here has ended, Alan's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to his family will never be forgotten.

Rest easy, Alan. Your watch has ended, but your legacy will live on forever.
