William G. "Bill" Wert, 72, of 144 Kasey Drive, Sunbury, a son of Earl and Arline Wert, passed away at his home on Thursday, July 14, 2016.
Bill Was born on April 1, 1944, in Lewisburg. He was a loving father, husband, grandfather, and a friend to many.
He graduated from Edison N.J. High School in 1963, and the WTTI Welding School in Selinsgrove. Bill served in the National Guards from 1964-1970.
He worked at TRW, Danville, Wert Sheet Metal and Welding, Young Door, Milton Steel, and retired from PPL.
Bill's greatest joy was his family and spending time at the cabin with his father, son and cabin buddies over the years.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Wanda Heimbach Wert; daughter Christine Vivino; son in-law Steve Vivino; son, Brian Wert; daughter in-law, Dezirae Wert;
granddaughter, Jessica; stepgranddaughters, Luryssa, Diane, and Sabrina; stepgreat-grandson, Giovanni; sisters, Janice Dyer, Val Updegrove, Shirley Fausey, Helen Hess, Nancy Finan, Patricia Dauberman, and Marion Rice; and one brother, Larry Smith
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Albert, Ralph, Robert, and Fred Smith.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 395 State St., Sunbury, followed by the funeral at 11.
Interment will be in the Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
