William G. Latsha, 87, of 152 12th St., Northumberland for the past 15 years, passed away at 11:27 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2016, at his home.
He was born Feb. 14, 1929, in Bear Valley 1st Patch, a son of the late George Marlin and Jennie Leona (Sherman) Latsha. On Jan. 3, 1949, in Grace Chapel Prsonage, Pine Street, Shamokin, he married the former Jeanette Darstein who survives.
William attended Coal Township schools.
He was employed as a coal miner for various companies, last working for the H & W Coal Company.
William was a member of Grace Independent Chapel, Overlook.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Alan Owens, of Shamokin Dam, Julie Costik, of Middletown, Pamela and David Hood, of Harpers Ferry, W.Va., and Beth and Rob Fegley, of Apex, N.C.; one son and daughter-in-law, William and Kim Latsha, of Shamokin; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Marlin Latsha, of RR Sunbury, and Roger Latsha, of Shamokin; one sister and brother-in-law, Delores and Charles Milbrand, of Elysburg; and one sister-in-law, Linda Latsha, of Coal Township.
He was preceded in death by one brother, John "Jack" Latsha.
A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Grace Independent Chapel, Overlook, followed by the funeral at 11, with the Rev. Alan Langelli officiating.
Burial in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
Farrow Funeral Directors, Sixth and Chestnut streets, Shamokin is in charge of the arrangements.
