Wilbur's Story

Wilbur L. "Web" "Lum" Satteson, 89, formerly of rural Milton, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016, at the home of his daughter in New Columbia.
He was born March 8, 1927, in Milton, a son of the late Thomas F. and Dorothy B. (Grove) Satteson. He was married to the former Lila Brown and later to the former Lois Oakum.

Web was a 1945 graduate of Montandon High School and had served in the Army as a cook during World War II.
He had been employed at Glen Gary Brick Co. in Watsontown and York for 38 years.
He was the sexton of Follmer Lutheran Church for 16 years, and a member of the American Legion Post 841, Montandon
Web enjoyed gardening, trapping, and traveling especially to Washington state, where in 1947 he worked on a hops farm.

He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Laurie S. and Irving P Greenman Jr., of New Columbia; one son and daughter-in-law, Scott W. and Sharon Satteson, of Watsontown; one stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Janice and Mike Shreck, of Milton; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; one sister, Shirley Michael, of Watsontown; one brother, Karl Satteson, of Mechanicsburg; and daughter-in-law, Mary Satteson of Plainfield, Conn.
He was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Steven Satteson; one grandson; and four brothers, Arthur, Frederick, Robert, and David.

Friends and relatives will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Follmer Lutheran Church, Grange Hall Road, Milton, followed by the funeral at 11, with the Rev. Thomas Glasoe officiating.
Burial will follow in Follmer Church Cemetery.

The family will provide flowers and ask for memorial contributions be made to the Follmer Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 72, Potts Grove, PA 17865.
