W. Charleen Shemory, 82, of Fort Titzell Road, Lewisburg, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, July 17, 2017, at the Williamsport Hospital.
She was born Dec. 19, 1934, in Danville, a daughter of the late Charles O. and Wilhelmina A. (Shultz) Waltz. She was married to Robert Shemory who preceded her in death in 2015 and to the late Charles R. Bauman Jr. who preceded her in death in 1989.
Charleen was a 1952 graduate of Danville High School.
At an early age, Charleen worked at The Corner Store in Danville for her mother. She then was a waitress, before she started a successful career in door-to-door sales. In her career she earned many trips abroad for hitting her top sales numbers.
She was a devout member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milton.
When her husband retired, they traveled across the United States. They also took winter trips, along with her friend Ruth Conard, to Florida. She enjoyed the many adventures she had with her best friend, Joyce Hockenbrock. Charleen liked camping, playing cards, and bingo with family and friends at Hidden Valley Campground in Forest Hill. She enjoyed attending meetings with her Red Hat family and the lunches with her high school classmates.
She is survived by three daughters, Charleen Long, of Sunbury, Susan Garman and husband Paul, of Middleburg, and Emma Ferster, of Sunbury; one son, Charles Bauman III and wife Janie, of Nescopeck; one stepdaughter, Julie Green and husband Milton, of Muir; one stepson, Richard Shemory and wife Christine, of Sunbury; two brothers, Jesse Waltz, of Sunbury and Kenneth Fausnaugt and wife Margie, of Northumberland; one sister, Emma Jean Osman and husband Jim, of Shamokin Dam; 14 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Charleen was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; one brother, Charles Hass; and one sister, Rose Wemple.
Friends and relatives will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Shaw Funeral Home, 400 N. Front St., Milton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:15 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Church, 109 Broadway, Milton, with the Rev. John D. Hoke as celebrant.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Milton.
