Ursula's Story

Text size

Ursula W. Cammisa, (Kruhoeffer) born on Nov. 2, 1932, in Dortmund, Germany, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on May 31, 2017, in Klamath Falls, Ore. She was 84. She had been battling Parkinson's Disease for the last 5 years.
As a young woman, Ursula came to the USA from Germany where she married and started her family in Upper Montclair, N.J. Moving to Lewisburg, Pa. in 1972. Ursula and her husband Angelo built a small farm where they raised their family. Their homestead on Stein Lane, at the top of the hill, was a frequent gathering place for family celebrations, hunting groups and friends. There were many happy memories from that time. In later years, they traveled the country in their RV and settled in Bandon, Ore., where they lived for the last 10 years. They recently moved to Klamath Falls to be closer to family as her Parkinson's Disease progressed.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Angelo; daughter, Janet Scott Furniss; son, James Scott and daughter-in-law Ann; granddaughters, Julie Furniss Dickerson and husband Michael, Jennifer, Kelly and Kristen Scott and grandson John Furniss; sister Ilse Pruefer; niece, Colette Lasek; great-nephews, Chris and Eric Lasek; great-granddaughter; Jenna Dickerson; and stepchildren, Angela, Vincent and Joseph Cammisa.

Ursula was a talented Bavarian folk art painter and operated the "Straw Flower Barn" in Lewisburg for many years. She lived a simple lifestyle finding pleasure in her family, friends, travels and painting. Her greatest pride was her children who were brought up following many German traditions, which have been passed down to her grandchildren and will continue her legacy.
Ursula and Angelo shared a wonderful and happy life together. He has been by her side, loving and caring for her through many recent setbacks. We are thankful for his love of our Mother.

In keeping with Ursula's wishes, there will not be a funeral service.
Memorial donations may be given to the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research at michaeljfox.org.
