Theodore F. Hufnagle Jr. 91 of Shamokin Dam passed away on Sunday, Nov. 13, 2016, at the Manor at Penn Village, Selinsgrove.
He was born Nov. 13, 1925, in Danville, a son of the late Theodore F. Sr. and Mary C. (McCaffery) Hufnagle. On Feb. 4, 1950, he married the former Gertrude M. Moran who preceded him in death on April 1, 2004.
Theodore attended St. Joseph School and was a graduate of Danville High School. He was a Marine Corps World War II veteran.
He retired in 1981 as a salesman with Tasty Baking Co. with 35 years of service.
He was a member of St. Pius X. Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post 201, Sunbury, the Northumberland Fire Co. No. 1, and a lifetime member of Americus Hose Co., Sunbury, and the Shamokin Dam Fire Co.
Theodore enjoyed golfing, attending Penn State games, camping along the Susquehanna and spending the winters in Myrtle Beach. He loved music and loved to dance.
He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Steven J. and Trudy K. Hufnagle, of Shamokin Dam, Mark D. and LuAnn Hufnagle, of Selinsgrove, and Matthew J. and Lynda Hufnagle, of Richmond, Va.; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Amy Hufnagle and fiancé Jose, Eric and Taylor Hufnagle, Jenny and Sean Blakely, Kelly Miller, Britany and Bhrett Long, Brian Hufnagle and Rachel Hufnagle; and three great-grandchildren, Maya, Nora and Avery.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary C. Hufnagle and Elizabeth "Honey" Hubicki.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 112 Fairview Drive, Selinsgrove, with the Rev. Tukura Pius Michael O.P., as celebrant.
Burial with full military honors will be in Orchard Hills Cemetery, Shamokin Dam.
