Shirley Irene Bartholomew, 89, died on Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017, at Bethany Village, Mechanicsburg.
She was born Sept. 23, 1927, in Sunbury, a daughter of the late Lester and Christy (Reichenbach) Shroyer.
A 1945 graduate of Sunbury High School, she attended Susquehanna University and graduated in 1948 with a degree in Commercial Education.
For most of her working career, Shirley was employed as a business teacher at Cumberland Valley High School, Mechanicsburg.
She was a member of Market Square Presbyterian Church, Harrisburg.
Shirley was married to William H. Bartholomew who preceded her in death in 1989.
She is survived by two daughters, Jill Bartholomew (Matthew) of Arlington, Va., and Kim Bartholomew (William) of Chapel Hill, N.C.; and two grandchildren, Maria and Anna Sibert, both of Chapel Hill.
A memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at Market Square Presbyterian Church, 20 S. Second St., Harrisburg, with Pastor Kelly Wiant officiating. Parking is available in the Market Square parking garage adjacent to the church.
