Ruth D. James, 90, of Danville, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2016 at her residence.
She was born Sept. 11, 1925,in Milton, a daughter of the late Earl O. Sr. and Pearl V. (Bogart) Dye and was raised by her late step-mother, Ada F. (Gramley) Dye. On April 6, 1962, Ruth married Thomas E. James Sr. who preceded her in death on Sept. 28, 2013.
She graduated from Milton High School in 1944.
Ruth was employed for 16 years by the Danville Area School District as the head cook for Liberty Valley Elementary School retiring in 1990. She was also a Liberty Township Tax Collector.
She was a member of Mooresburg United Methodist Church, Mooresburg.
Ruth enjoyed camping, bluegrass music, and traveling to Nashville on bus trips with her husband. Her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by five sons, Edward E. Aikey and wife Bonnie, of Milton, Larry E. Aikey and wife Jane, of Danville, Ronald E. Aikey and wife Caren, of Florida, Timothy T. James and wife Grace, of Danville, and Randy E. James and his fiance, Tina Kristoff, of Danville; one daughter, Sandra E. Romig and husband William Jr., of Millville; two sisters, Isabelle and Joann; one brother, Foster; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Viola, Alverna, Betty, Violet; and one brother, Earl, Jr.
Services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are under the direction of Visneski Funeral Home Inc. 10 W. Mahoning St., Danville.
