Ruth M. Breon, 94, of Milton, passed away on Monday, Dec. 12, 2016, at the Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
She was born Sept. 12, 1922, in Harrisburg, N.C., a daughter of the late Charlie and Fannie (Morrison) Kerr. She was married to George Breon who preceded her in death on May 30, 2014.
Ruth was a 1940 graduate of Harrisburg High School and a 1944 graduate Charlotte Memorial Hospital Nursing School, both in North Carolina.
She was employed as a nurse in Muncy Valley Hospital, retiring in 1969.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Milton where she was a deacon. She volunteered as a Cub Scout Den Mother, the Red Cross with their blood services and food bank, and enjoyed helping friends and neighbors.
Ruth enjoyed camping, fishing and gardening, both vegetables and flowers.
She is survived by one brother, Charlie Ross Kerr, of Charlotte, N.C.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Marshall Breon; and two sisters, Louise Kerr Faires and Frances Kerr Lewis.
Friends and relatives will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the Shaw Funeral Home, 400 N. Front St., Milton, followed by the funeral at 11, with the Rev. Dr. Stephen G. Shirk officiating.
Burial will follow in Milton Cemetery.
