Ruth's Story

Ruth E. Bloomer, 72, of Allenwood passed away peacefully on May 31, 2016, at the Gatehouse in Williamsport.

She was born May 2, 1944, in Lewisburg, a daughter of Mary (Mench) Snyder, of Watsontown and the late Raymond Snyder, and the loving wife of Kenneth Bloomer who survives.

Ruth graduated from Milton High School in 1962.

She was employed as a secretary and realtor for the Coup Agency in Milton.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Milton.

Ruth enjoyed going on bus trips with Ken to the Lancaster area and other getaways, taking trips to the beach with her girlfriends, and most of all spending time with her family. Ruth was best known for baking Christmas cookies, lots of Christmas cookies, and distributing them to friends, family, and those who were important to her.

In addition to her husband and mother, Ruth is survived by three brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold and Gladys Snyder, of Watsontown, Carl and Judy Snyder, of Milton ,and Ed and Cathy Snyder, of Watsontown. She was also the most amazing Mother to her two sons and their families, Danny and Kristi Trate, of Hughestown and Barry and Sandy Trate, of Danville, and grandmother to four grandchildren,Brandon, Christopher, Tyler and Gabe Trate.

Ruth was preceded in death by one brother, Raymond Snyder and his wife, Patsy; and one sister, Jean Snyder.

A graveside service will be held privately for the family, but a memorial celebration will be announced at a later date.
