Rose M. Bird Antico, 81, of 633 E. Seventh St., Mount Carmel, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at Mount Carmel Senior Living Community.
Born in Washington, DC on Dec. 23, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Midian and Ruth (Haislipp) Joseph. She was educated in Washington DC Catholic School graduating in 1951.
Rose was a resident of the area for 45 years having lived in both Shamokin as well as Mount Carmel. She was employed as a packer for Kraft Corporation, having retired in 1997.
She was first married to Daniel C. Bird, who preceded her in death in January, 1977; in December, 1979 in Mount Carmel she married Joseph G. Antico, who survives.
She was a member of Divine Redeemer Church, where she was a choir member, she also was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary of Mount Carmel.
In addition to her husband Joseph she is survived by one son, Daniel Bird Jr. and his wife Barbara, of Fredericksburg, Va.; one daughter, Diana Bird, of Mount Carmel; one stepson, Joseph Antico and his wife Kathy, of Elysburg; three grandchildren, Barry Williams Jr., Daniel C. Bird III and Danielle Bird-Dudley; two step-grandchildren, Danielle Nevel and her husband Brian and Lauren Springman and her husband John; two great-grandchildren, Trinity and Braydon Dudley; three step-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Louise Varellie and Mary Jenkins of Maryland and Margie Pazdernick, of Michigan; one brother, Robert Joseph and his wife Serena of Virginia; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents and her first husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Anthony Joseph and his wife Daisey, Raymond Joseph, William Joseph and his wife Marian and Paul Joseph and his wife Sonia; one sister, Ruth Ling; and three brothers-in-law, Frank Varellie, George Pazdernick and James Jenkins.
A viewing will be held from 9 to 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2017, with transferal prayers at 9:30, at the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home, Inc., 27 N. Vine St., Mount Carmel. A Funeral Mass will be follow at 10:30 a.m. at Divine Redeemer Church, 300 West Avenue, Mount Carmel with the Rev. Martin O. Moran III officiating.
Burial will be in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
