Ronald E. "Razor" Fahringer, 77, of Danville, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at The Manor Care Health Services, Sunbury.
He was born July 29, 1939, in Ralpho Township, a son of the late Melvin W. and Ruth E. (Schuler) Fahringer. Ronald's passing broke a marriage union of 57 years with the former Jacqueline Snyder who survives.
He attended Ralpho Township High School and later enlisted to join the Marine Corps., serving from Feb. 10, 1958 to Feb. 14, 1961, with a rank of LCpl (E-3), specialty rifleman. He also served as a guard for President Dwight Eisenhower while in the military.
Ron was a resident of Danville for several years. He was employed as a general contractor/oil technician and sales. He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church, Coal Township. Razor was a life member of Bass Masters Fishing. He was an avid outdoors men, and avid Penn State and New York Yankees fan.
He was a devoted husband and wonderful father and grandfather with a firm hand and a tender heart.
Surviving in addition to his wife are one daughter, Lori (Fahringer) Burkland, of Sunbury; three grandchildren, Jason Burkland, Carson Fox, and Heidi Burkland; one great-grandson, Owen Shiffer; one brother, Robert Fahringer and his wife Patricia, of Catawissa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to noon Monday at the Robert G. Foust Jr. Funeral Home, 841 W. Shamokin St., Trevorton, followed by the funeral service at noon with Pastor Beverly Petrovich officiating.
Burial will follow in Northumberland Memorial Park Cemetery, Stonington.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ronald's memory to Zion United Methodist Church, 158 Klinger Ave, Coal Township, PA 17866.
