Robert D. Schrawder, 80, of Blue Hill, Northumberland, passed away Friday, May 27, 2016, at his home.
He was born Dec. 30, 1935, in Richfield, a son of the late Ray and Nora Ellen (Strawser) Schrawder. He was married to the former Marion Hester Bidelspach who survives.
Robert was a proud and longtime employee of Furman's Cannery who was still serving the company in many capacities.
He enjoyed the outdoors with activities that included farming, gardening, biking and hunting. However, his greatest joy came while spending time with his family and walking his dog.
In addition to his wife of 62 years, Robert is survived by two daughters, Robin Fay Kieffer, of Northumberland, Debra Kay Rozyckie, of Selinsgrove; four grandchildren, Misty Lee and Joseph Robert Rozyckie, Mary Fersano and Dwight Kieffer; four great-grandchildren, Zahki and Ajanea Nettles, Jason Joseph Fenton II and Christopher Fersano; and two sisters, Vera Arlene Jarrett and Shirley Dolores Witmer.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Junior Shrawder and Lawrence Elwood Schrawder.
Friends and family may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Joseph W. Epler Funeral Home, 210 King St., Northumberland where the funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Michelle Beissel officiating.
Burial will follow in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
