Robert F. Heidlebaugh, 82, of Mount Pleasant Mills, passed away at 3:45 a.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at his home.
He was born Sept. 6, 1934, in York, a son of the late Robert and Mary (Hake) Heidlebaugh. On Aug. 29, 1953, he married the former Verna P. Miller who survives. They celebrated a marital union of 63 years.
Bob graduated in 1952 from William Penn High School in York.
He was self-employed in the construction business for more than 40 years and was also employed by Manchester Township and Mount Wolf Borough.
Bob was a Scout leader in York County, a member of the Hanover Street Rod Association, the York Antique Car Club, the William Grove Steam Engines Association for more than 34 years, the Steam A Rama, Tuckahoe Steam and Gas Association, Chambersburg Steam Association, a volunteer with the Alert Fire Company in Emigsville, and attended car shows at the Leg Up Farm in Mount Wolf for six years. He was a former member of Hayshire U.C.C. and Starview U.C.C..
In addition to his wife, Robert, is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Steven and Nannette Heidlebaugh and Rock and Diana Heidlebaugh, all of Dover; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Clair Heidlebaugh; and one sister, Ruth Garner.
Services and burial for Robert will be private.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf.
