Paul K. Howell, 78, of Middleburg, passed away on Wednesday morning, March 15, 2017, at the Manor at Penn Village, Selinsgrove.
He was born Jan. 22, 1939, in McClure, a son of the late Paul K. and Clara (Knepp) Howell. On Jan. 1, 1972, he married the former Phyllis J. Swartzlander who survives.
Paul had been employed at Bendix Homes, Middleburg, the Middleburg Borough, and McClellan's Tree Farm, Middleburg.
He was a member of Hummel's United Methodist Church, Middleburg where he sang in the choir and attended church Bible study.
Paul enjoyed football and was a Penn State fan. He also enjoyed find-a-word puzzles, and was a faithful reader of his Bible.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Paul K. Jr. and Regina Howell, of Shamokin; five grandchildren, Lynn Strohecker, Sherry Popiel, Terry Drumheller Jr., Gary Drumheller, and Richard Drumheller; 10 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Smith, of Rochester, N.Y.
He was preceded in death by one great-grandchild; two brothers, Donald and Richard Howell; and four sisters, Flo Rager, Scott Anna Moyer, Margie Good, and Ethel Klinger.
A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the Hummel's United Methodist Church, followed by the funeral at 11, with the Rev. Carvel K. May officiating.
Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
