Patricia Mae (Yordy) Trego, 85, a resident of Newbury Court in Concord, Mass., passed away after a brief illness on Friday, April 7, 2017. She was born April 27, 1931, in Muncy, Pa., the eldest child of the late Kenneth and Mary (Childs) Yordy.
Patty was the devoted wife of William R. Trego. They would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this summer. They were high school sweethearts, meeting in 1946 at Milton High School in Pennsylvania. They spent the early years of their marriage in Eldorado, Ark., where Bill got his first teaching job. While there, they had their first and only child, Kimberlie (Trego) Sachs.
Patty and Bill spent the majority of their lives together in West Windsor, N.J. Bill taught choral music to many generations of students at Princeton High School and Princeton University while Patty performed secretarial/administrative tasks in marketing research. Upon retirement, Patty and Bill moved to Malcolm Meadows in Carlisle, Mass., to be near their daughter and son-in-law.
In addition to her husband and daughter, she is survived by her son-in-law, Bruce Sachs; her sister, Nancy Louise Yordy; her sister-in-law, Janet (Murdock) Yordy; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Patty was preceded in death by her brother, Edward L. Yordy.
Friends and relatives will be received from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the Shaw Funeral Home, 400 N. Front St., Milton, followed by the funeral at 11:30, with the Rev. Richard L. Kellett officiating.
Burial will follow in Church Hill Cemetery, Lewisburg.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 1355 Peachtree St. NE, Suite 600, Atlanta, GA 30309, in honor of Patricia Trego.
