Text size

Nettie S. Hoffman, 79, (formerly Nettie Snyder), of Sunbury, marched her way to the Lord on Wednesday, June 21, 2017, surrounded by family.
She was born July 29, 1937, a daughter of the late Donald Snyder and Anna (Wise) Mahlon. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her two siblings, Janice Schlegel of Dalmatia and Donald Snyder of Watsontown.

Nettie was a 1955 graduate of Sunbury High School where she loved serving as the head majorette of the marching band. She was also named Miss Selinsgrove Fair of 1954. She married the love of her life in 1955 and spent 62 years by his side.
She was employed by Sunbury Textile Mill, retiring in 1998.
Nettie dedicated her life to her family. She loved spending time with family and friends gathered around food, fun and laughter. She passed along her love of good food and family values to her children and grandchildren, sharing family recipes and life stories. She would make sure you never left her home hungry or unhappy. She especially loved spending time with her great-grandchildren, showering them with love and affection. Nettie was always quick with a joke or a funny look to make you smile when you were down. The love and laughter she brought to the lives she touched will never be forgotten.

She is survived by her husband, Mark Hoffman Sr.; two sons, Mark Hoffman Jr. and wife, Donna, of Sunbury, and Kenneth Hoffman and long time companion Jenny Neidig, of Sunbury; five grandchildren and their spouses, Desiree Hoffman, of Washington, D.C., Nichole (Hoffman) and Richard Irving, of Phoenix, Ariz., Tiffani (Hoffman) and Michael Wernett, of Sunbury, Andrew Hoffman and Cara, of Flagler Beach, Fla., and Marissa (Hoffman) and Joseph Teisher, of Sunbury; her beautiful five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Interment will follow in the Herndon Cemetery.
