Michael L. "Mike" Phillips, 67, of Troxelville Road, Middleburg, passed away on Sunday morning, Nov. 27, 2016, at his home following a two year battle with cancer.
He was born Aug. 18, 1949, in Sunbury, a son of the late Carl H. Kline and Delbert and Georgianna (Middleton) Phillips. On Feb. 15, 1979, he married the former Leanna Kay Walter who survives.
Mike owned his own auto body shops and was a mechanic at several area garages. He was an over-the-road truck driver and was a owner/operator.
He was an avid Dale Earnhardt fan and raced late model cars at the age of 16. He later helped others construct and build their race cars. Mike also enjoyed hunting and going to Canada on fishing trips.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle and Shane Nipple, of Mount Pleasant Mills, Terri and Kevin Ridall, of Berwick, Jennifer and Denny Sunderland, of McClure, and Charlene and Nick Hartley, of Sunbury; nine grandchildren, Gavin Nipple, Kevin and Kurt Miller, Andrew Hess, Cheyenne and Briar Ridall, and Katie, Beth and Kyrsten Sims; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be announced at a later date.

Arrangements are by the Hummel Funeral Home, 574 Hill St., Middleburg.
