"Thank God I'm a country boy."
Michael D. Fluck, of Danville, passed away at his home on Saturday, April 29, 2017.
He was born in 1952 and grew up on a farm in Sullivan County, with his late mother and stepfather, Myrtle and George Kramer, and 11 siblings, Ken, Diane, Mary, Betsy, Kathy, Tim, Emma, Viola, Joe, Myrtle, and Georgette.
He came to Danville at 17 years of age to enter X-ray school and worked in the radiology department at Geisinger Medical Center until his retirement.
Mike celebrated more than 40 years of marriage with his devoted wife, Susan McGill, and was the proud father of four engineers, sons, Adam, Noah, Stephen, and Marcus. He enjoyed living atop a serene hill on Toby Run.
His passions were playing guitar, cultivating his vegetable garden, reading, and touring the United States and Canada in his RV. He was admired for his ingenuity, innovativeness, and resourcefulness.
His family included father and late mother-in-law, Bernard and Teresa McGill; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sally and David Heath, Connie and Jeffrey Lemon, Janine and Dr. Randy Wykoff, and Stephen McGill and Ray Hoover.
In memory of Michael, friends are encouraged to plant a tree and reminisce about shared experiences that evoke smiles.
"Take me home, country roads."
