Melvin's Story

Melvin R. "Kooly" Inch, 88, of Penn Street, Selinsgrove, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2017, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
He was born June 30, 1928, in Selinsgrove, a son of the late George and Sara (Kuster) Inch. On June 16, 1951, he married the former Helen E. (Lucas) Inch who survives.

Melvin was a 1946 graduate of Selinsgrove High School. After school he served in the Army where he was stationed in Germany.
He was previously employed at Kepp's Chevrolet, Weis Markets, Inch's Mobil, Inch's Truck Service and then Inch's Automotive until his retirement.
He was a member of Sharon Lutheran Church, a life member of DH&L Fire Co., charter member of DH&L Ambulance League, life member of the Selinsgrove Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1173, and a member of the American Legion Post 25, Selinsgrove.
Melvin was an avid auto racing fan and enjoyed helping his son at the Selinsgrove Speedway and at the shop. He was also a Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles sports fan. He especially enjoyed family reunions and loved his grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to his wife are one son, Jerry A. Inch; four grandchildren, Jessica L. Inch and companion Jimmy Gross, Stephanie M. Inch, Michael A. Inch and companion Miranda Valentine, and Haley Inch; four great-grandchildren, Dahnavan Gross, Dylan Arnold, Blake Inch and Derek Inch; one sister-in-law, Vivian M. Inch; and three nieces, Brenda Klokis and husband Philip, Bonnie Lowe and husband David, and Connie Kline and companion David Trissler.
He was preceded in death by one son, Scott A. Inch; one sister, E. Lucille Inch; one brother, Gerald E. Inch; one nephew, Steven R. Inch; his father-in-law, George P. Lucas; and his sister-in-law, Gertrude M. Wagner.

Friends and family will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, followed by the funeral at 11, at the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High St., Selinsgrove, with the Rev. Robert Doll officiating.
Burial with military honors will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Selinsgrove.
